Amelia and Thomas Part II- First Look and Bridals at Utah Lake State Park and BYU Campus

Part II for Amelia and Thomas is here! As you might remember from Part I, the engagements, Amelia and I have been good friends for a while, and having an existing connection makes photos so much more special for me!

And honestly, we were lucky to make this session work. During the months leading up to Amelia and Thomas’s wedding, they were living apart from each other while Thomas attended Utah State and Amelia was living in Salt Lake and working in Draper. So we had a really narrow time frame to get these pictures done, because they were together only a couple days here and there, and sometimes it was in Logan, others in Salt Lake. We had a day and time scheduled for doing bridals at Utah Lake State Park and BYU Campus, and then my grandpa unexpectedly passed away. I originally wasn’t going to be able to make it to his funeral in Colorado, but a last minute opportunity got me a ride. On the same day as the bridals.

Rest assured, I do run a business with contracts and all that legal stuff so that if something like this happens, you as the client won’t be left high and dry! But Thomas and Amelia were SO gracious to me to give up a date for a session that was already so difficult to coordinate, and the potential to do it at the location that Amelia wanted so badly. Talk about having amazing friends!?

Long story short, we were able to make the original location work, but not without a sacrifice of some sleep on all of our part (we hit the gold mine with a GORGEOUS sunrise session!) and a sacrifice of unplanned travel for Amelia and Thomas (and Lydia, Amelia’s trusty assistant and sister :) ). All in all though, I think we were all extremely pleased with the outcome! Let me know in the comments what you think!
